[Milsurplus] an/arc-27 info request

Hi,

Please excuse my ignorance of the proper
protocol here, but I want to comment.

I spent some brief time on the ARC-27 in '68,
and LOTS of time on the GRC-27 from "68-72.
Fascinating things, 225-400 MC, at the time.
GRT-3s also...

The GRC-27 actually worked from 220-400, and
as a USAF radio maintenance grunt/ham, I did have
several QSOs with other hams on the 220 band with
other G.I.s in similar positions. Pretty cool back then.

But now, I wonder, I have almost got a GRC-27 and/or
GRT-3 (220-400 MC, fixed freq) system together, with
AT-197 and such, but is there any hope of communicating
with anyone on 220 band with this stuff? Can ARC-27 do
220-225? I love to see some 220 band AM comms with
the things. Any hope????

Thanks,
Phil Metz, N8BFB
