Between computer crash and ISP games, I am a lot late in responding.  Audio recovery is usually not the problem if tere is adequate audio gain.  An outboard powered speaker can take up the slack.  The real problem is lack of selectivity.  If any of the adjacent or alternate channels are in use, they will demodulate about as well as he center channel, but are more distorted, and thus sound louder.  As with another syuggestion, an unnder-chassis filter *could* remedy this deficiency if it seemed worth the effort.
