They had lots of very high frequency transmitters and receivers that were 
probably used for radar, radar jammers
remote control or transponders. I was interested in the HF stuff such as the 
Command Sets because it was a cheap way
of getting on 80 or 40 with a VFO.

Back in the 1960's we bought the surplus to use and modify. Now we purchase 
surplus to own a part of
an earlier technology. I bet those strange sets would sell today.
