Working by ursef 'til 3AM & hence goofy

Had mini IF xfrmr removal problem. U know, BC-779 stuff / bypasses
buried inside.

Xfrmr can riveted spade-lug secured to chassis w. 4-40 nuts. Busted a
spade-lug rivet on 1st removal. On second I got smarter & heated the
4-40 stud w. a Weller. Rolled out ~3 turns @ a time then Weller re-heat
needed for glyptol

This may be old hat to most, new hat to a few. Sure was new hat to me &
hope post saves folks some time

BTW these were the 1.3 mhz limiter xfrmrs in a BC-1000. Manual
doesn't state deviation but guess it's 50kc like '604 & '659.
Sorta supported since it's "40 channels" from 38-48mcs.... making
each channel 250kcs wide which easily contain 100kc-wide sig.

40 channels, shades of CB

Can only say it sounds OK in a Monitoradio MR33 that's 20kc. Mebbe
PRC-6 & 10 & 25 and RT70 all 20kc?

'1000 limiters work on contact-potential/grid-leak principal. have
never seen it before or since. Suspect most BC-1000s horribly non-FM
because of two leaky .01 mfd 'Coronet' postage-stamp grid-leak cap.s.
