If you harm a hair on that loops head I will have all the demons left over
from the cutting room floors of all the Steven Kings movies at your door.
Thanx

Subject: [Milsurplus] MN-20E Loop questions

I had some spare time on a rainy Saturday afternoon and went through some
surplus.
I found a MN-20E loop antenna and MN-52H controller I bought from G&G radio
in 1982.
(The recipt was still in the box). I intended to construct a VLF loop
preamplifer with this loop
but things like marriage, career, etc. got in the way.

I'm back on the project. The antenna has a 6 pin Cannon connector. Would
anyone know the
designation or pinout of this connector or have a schematic of the loop?
I'll check with William Perry to
see if he has the plug.

Anyone remember G&G radio? In the 1960's, the showroom was located on Warren
street in downtown
Manhattan. As a teenager, I used to visit it along with the remaining
surplus stores such as Leeds Radio
and Barry Electronics to pick up my share of command sets and surplus parts.

I started working downtown in 1976 and the store was repalced with an
electronics retailer..
I found out G&G was operating out of the second floor. I visited the store
and it probably hadn't changed
since the 1940's. Lots of surplus radios, radar sets and mine detectors in
the original boxes.
I should have picked up lots more besides the loop antenna but surplus
didn't have the mystique
it has today.

Thanks,

Mike N2MS
