This was an emerg comm HT for downed flyers in the 1950s. Tube set and as I recall a regen rcvr. Swap meet value $10-$30. Not rare. Shown in a movie whose title I cannot recall, but it involved a rescue at sea with a USAF Grumman Albatross.
