Various things, Eric;

C-141s and DC-8s used a probe at the top leading edge of the vertical stabilizer.  Most of the modern jets load up a section of the stabilizer through use of various dielectric inserts to define a radiator portion of (usually) the leading edge.  I once knew what "Speedbird" (the Concorde) used, as it was explained on the test model on exhibit at Duxford, but, alas, I've forgotten.
