Eric,
Depending on the type and numbers of HF rigs on board, a probe type. a
flay isolated flat plate area, an engine nacelle (Jetstar), a wingtip,
part of the vertical fin and lately a conformal low drag plate area.
Lot of different antennas with automatic couplers with 10 second load
times. 40 to 1 KW SSB and ACARS data and SELCAL. The ground station
rings your door bell to wake you up
AB GH has a selective tone and you answer Tango Lima 351 etc.
Most all of the carriers now use SATCOM.
