Hi David,

Thanks for contacting Dennis.

I was not considering trying to round up and post the "Backmails", because that
seems to involve a large cut, paste, and edit task. I am certainly not prepared
to undertake that, nor is Keith AFAIK.

My proposal was more modest but perhaps slightly less useful. That suggestion
was to make an archive of text files of the individual emails, organized in date
order.

Initially, I was considering making one file per email, but upon reflection,
that seems cumbersome. I am now leaning more to combining the individual emails
into larger files spanning several months of individual posts. For example, one
file might be January through March, 2001 and contain roughly 8 individual
posts. This would reduce the HTML task to put the page together, and make
searching easier. Also, I'd like to keep the files in the few hundred K size
range so as to be manageable with simple software.

The only editing I'm contemplating is stripping off the "To: and CC" headers to
protect people's email addresses and assembling the files into a longer file.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or on whether the files should be in
text, in HTML, or as .pdf's?

Thanks,
-John
