I guess a little history is in order, sorry bout that Dennis.
It was really called MCGP, not MRCG. Some minor confusion there. You are
right, too many abbreviations floating around!
Back about 1998, Dennis Starks a well known miltary radio collector started
circulating a Military Collector Group Post 'MCGP'. A few were orginally
circulated on floppies via snail mail until Dennis got up on the web. It was
emailed out periodically to 'subscribed' individuals. He collected postings
from other collectors and it served as a rally point for military radio
collectors. It was an early crude form of a remailer. He collected the
correspondance, added comments and sent it back out. It ran from about 1998
until 2002 when it disbanded. (One of the reasons this remailer was started,
to pick up where he left off.) Many excellent topics were covered concerning
military radios. He eventually compiled the semi-daily/weekly postings into
about 80 files which he called 'back files'. The daily postings and
backfiles are indexed on the below website. Unfortunately, Dennis only
supplied 14 of the 80 the 'backfiles' for me to upload to the website. These
are what we are now talking about recollecting and posting to the website:

Until this task is accomplished, if you see something in a daily posting,
drop me an email request.
Dennis Starks also published the 'PRC LIST' an excellent compilation of data
on PRC radios.
While the orignal full version was/is? sold through Fair Radio, a shorter
version is available here for free:

Hope this helps explain what we were talking about.

Subject: Re: [Milsurplus] MRCG archives
Someone please tell me, what are/were these "posts" and to where. I've
been
into military surplus
since the 50s, have dealt with Dennis Stark from time to time over the years
and even worked him on the air some years back, but never heard about these
before. For starters, "MRCG" as used here stands for what exactly?
Thought
we had the acronym all to ourselves out here in CA with our annual Military
Radio Collectors Group (MRCG) meetings held variously at Camp San Luis
Obispo and
Ft. MacArthur in San Pedro. Meeting #10 coming up May 6 & 7 this year,
BTW,
and hope to see some of you there,
