A few years ago at Harrisburg PA I was climbing the
steps up into one of the C-130's the Special Operations
Group uses to fly around and broadcast to civilians in
combat zones when I noticed that on the left side of the
stairs there were a few older electronic components which
were running on WWII dynamotors. The avionics shop on
the flight line was set up to handle all ages from WWII
on up. As a retired USAF type who had worked in that
building in 1949 when it was Olmstead AFB I was amazed
at how little it had changed over time. "Obsolete" is
when you can't get parts for something.
