Last but not least, Here in Fresno, there was Cut-Rate electronics who

Up to maybe 10 years ago, there was quite a a bit of junk left. I
remember mounds of ARC-5 transmitters and 6V6GT tubes in a mound about 3
feet high. I thing the EPA came down apon them and it had to be cleaned
up.
I was visiting a friend in Coalinga Calif back in '80 when he told me about
the "Electric Farm" out heading towards Fresno. I guess it went by many
names including Jerrys remembrance as the Goat Farm but it was one heck of a
place!! In the middle of the 5 acres or so of surplus of all imaginable
types was a old Victorian 2 1/2 story house crammed with stuff. I remember
one of the BIG chicken coops piled with GRR-5 rcvrs and power supplies along
one wall and bundles of the WW2 MS antenna sections . I left there with my
poor ol' Chevy loaded to the springs. One of the neat finds was a big
aircraft prop with the prop pitch motor gone. The owner said I was the first
person (goob) to have ever bought one of those props in all the years that
they had been sitting there. Still have it ...waiting to hang the prop over
my barn door...if I ever get one.
