[Milsurplus] Surplus stores

In Shreveport, LA in the 1960's and at least into the early 70's, a guy named 
Asa D. Hemperly sold surplus out of a building in his back yard.  Most of it 
probably came out of Barksdale AFB, although some may have come from Fort Polk 
and some came from individuals.  I bought a lot of stuff from him both before 
and after I went to Vietnam.  Last talked to him sometime in the 80's I 
think.  In '69 I bought a pair of BC-640's from him.  We loaded them both into the 
back of my International Scout 80, which must have looked from the side like a 
C-119 at the end of its takeoff run.  Headlamps were pointed just a little 
high on the run back to Ruston.  :-)
