Very interesting posts.

I had a chance to read a few of them.

I remember the surplus stores on Market Street in San Francisco Mid 50's.
Would take a bus from Walnut Creek.

The Oakland Airport had a nice surplus outlet. I remember buying a GF-11
transmitter in the original packing case. I think it cost $7.50.

Sacramento had a place called 40 acres.

There was a Military surplus store in Manteca, CA.

Last but not least, Here in Fresno, there was Cut-Rate electronics who
had several acres called the Goat Farm.
Up to maybe 10 years ago, there was quite a a bit of junk left. I
remember mounds of ARC-5 transmitters and 6V6GT tubes in a mound about 3
feet high. I thing the EPA came down apon them and it had to be cleaned
up.
