[Milsurplus] BC-610's

a question was posed on 75 meters AM the other night by some users of
610's.

Did the "D" or earlier models ever see service with the military or in
Europe at all or was the earliest model to see mil service over there
the "E" model?  

I've got a manual for the A,B,C and D models and on the front cover is
written "Sarge XXXXX" so i'm suspecting that it saw some mil service
although unknown where and how much.  Course maybe the person who had
possession of this manual was named Sarge.  ?
