I'm interested in a few engineering details of the APS-4 WW II airborne radar.
So far, I've located pics of the set:

http://www.avrosys.nu/aircraft/Spaning/213S18.htm

but there seems to be little information on the guts on the web. So far, I've
found out that:

the set used a 725A maggie:

http://www.tubecollector.org/725a.htm

and a 1B22 modulator:

http://www.tubecollector.org/1b22.htm

I'd like to know what klystron type was used in the LO, and get some pics of the
mixer assembly, display, and control box. Also, does anyone know if the A scan
on the display was generated electronically, with a sine/cosine pot on the dish
mount, or was it by rotating the display tube yoke?

The reason for the interest is I've met an ex-Navy tech who worked on the sets
in the Pacific on a carrier, but does not remember all that much about the sets.

BTW, I finally found out what my TS-33/AP (aka doorstop) is for. LoL.

Thanks,
-John
