[Milsurplus] Surplus

Twice in my career in the USAF I was able to feed surplus equipment to hams 
without going through commercial sources.  First was when I ran the MARS 
station at Memphis Municipal Airport and was able to sign for a complete 
hanger full of parts.  Put of the call to all MARS stations in the  Eastern 
US and at one time had seven aircraft parked on the ramp awaiting to be 
loaded with the goodies.  The second was at Amarillo AFB when I ordered all 
the surplus equipment I could for issue to Hams/MARS members in 
Texas/Oklahoma.  At one time I had a semi load of BC-640's and BC-639's. 
which went about three days after I put out the word.  The biggie was 
twenty 55 gallon drums full of 1% and better resistors all the way up to 
100 watt sizes.  Sure miss those daysd
