Then:
Atkinson and Smith, Eatontown, NJ
First floor was radio, TV and Ham supplies, second floor was military and
industrial surplus. Large 30 X 50 foot room IIRC with some military
equipment, lots of parts, old style resistors, tube sockets of all
varieties, some ceramic, lots of odd electronic assemblies and such.
Long gone.

Herback and Raderman, Philadelphia, PA
Mostly test equipment and tons of parts from scraped equipment. They had
a flier called "This Week" that was several pages in length, much like
Fair Radio Sales in Lima, OH. I believe they moved across the Delaware
River to Camden, NJ but I don't know if they still exist.

Firtics (Firteks?), Philadelphia, PA
Was a great place! Lots of test equipment, parts, power supplies and
military surplus. Reasonable prices and you could always bargain. Spent
many an hour there going through items that hadn't seen light of day for
many years. Lots of WW2 radar test equipment, NIB.
Long gone, AFAIK.

Now.
Fair Radio Sales, Lima OH
If you don't already know about this place, or better yet been there,
there is nothing I can say to describe it!

Nortex Electronics Co., 5156 Vickery Loop East, Forth Worth, TX (817)
731-6611
Still a great place! Mostly test equipment and parts, lots of parts.
Still has some military surplus from WW2, lots of antique test equipment
from the 1950s through last week. Well, maybe not that new but you get
the idea. Two LARGE warehouses and an open yard in between. Stacks of
equipment to the six or seven foot level! I have spent many hours there
and still haven't seen everything. Lots of tubes, components like NOS
resistors of all power levels, capacitors, wire, transformers, you name
it. Remember to look behind the stuff on the shelf, you never know what
lurks behind it. Owner/operator's name is Lewis, who is in his 80s but
you wouldn't know it. He is sharp, very sharp. When you go, tell him
Jim from Hot Springs sent you! Oh, I forgot to mention, Lewis supplies
flashlights for those dimly lit areas!
