Here's another question which puzzles me:

There is a warning "2000 VOLTS UNDER THIS COVER" in the indicator, BUT there is
no HV rectifier and only a MS connector and microphone style connectors going
in/out of the box.  Can the MS connector handle the 2 KV or how is it
supplied??? Remember, there were no solid state rectifiers used.

I forgot to add, the indicator has 4 distance ranges: 2, 7, 20, and 70 miles.
Roughly a factor of 3 between them. There are also two separate stages in the
receiver wherein the screen grid voltages are switched. I suspect that the
receiver gain is switched along with the sweep range. A third receiver stage has
an external control provision. The receiver has no AGC, BTW.
