It's a BC-779 all right, but it's been modified.
Look at the right side over where the 6F6 audio
output tubes are supposed to be.  Looks like
some one cut out and replaced the chassis, and
added some seven or nine pin minature tubes.
Also unusual is that the IF cans have numbers
stamped into their tops.
