A group of us LSU students (all hams and EE majors) bought several from Fair
in I think late 1962 or early 1963. The whole set, with batteries. We used
to play with them on campus after dark. Had a couple of near misses with
Campus Security. I wish that I knew what became of them (the radios, I know what
became of most of the classmates). They didn't come home with me when I
transferred in '64. And I know that they didn't fall victim to my infamous
counter-clockwise only screwdriver. They also weren't involved in the Cuban Missle
Crisis radio scare, just for the record. That was caused by some BBA idiot in
South Stadium.
The Chevrolet truck map and document bag is close in size but lacks shoulder
straps.
