That may be where the two odd ones (5205 and 5500) that I had came from. I 
note that both 5205 and 5500 are common BC-611 frequencies.

Yes. The AN/ARC-5 parts list describes the octal crystal holder as 
"equivalent to Signal Corps DC-8-A". If the holders ever got an AN type number (CR-?), I 
never saw an example.
