Actually, I am well underway restoring MB-NAVY-MZ-1 USN 133818, a 1944 radio 
jeep. Willys-Overland made TCS radio jeeps for the Navy/USMC in 1943 
(MB-NOM-12), 1944 (MB-NAVY-MZ-1 & MZ-2), and 1950 (CJV-35/U). I'm not really sure when 
the Navy/USMC change over from the TCS but I have seen the same type 
waterproof box for the radios in the M38A1.
