I have part of a receiver-transmitter control group. For remote control of
Navy radio set TCS over wire line.
The unit I have is the remote unit. It has a data plate marked:
Type CACS-23398
Remote Control Unit
For use with Model TCS series radio equip.
Navy Contract Nxsr-39551
This unit is 9"x 5"x 2-½". It appears three "D" battery cells fit in it from
the top. On the front are phone and mic. jacks for PL-55 and PL-68 and a pair
of TM-195 knurled head binding posts for telephone wire.
What I'm missing is the other end of the remote that attaches to the TCS. I'm
assuming it would have plugs or jacks and binding posts similar to the ones
on the remote I have, but I'm not sure if the unit would need power. If the
unit had jacks, then it would need a pair of jumpers from jack to jack on the
phone and mic.
I'm also missing the wire & reel, manual, and any bag this group came in.
So anyone seen something like this or know of a unit similar enough so I can
get this remote system functioning?
Almost forgot, the unit I have is Marine Corps green with yellow markings on
the spring loaded covers for the phone and mic. jacks

Mark Tombleson
