I do not know what all of the hassle is as I Export and Import all of 
the time.
I use USPS, UPS and airlines and ocean and if some poor soul insists I 
use FEDEX only at their request. I ship most by airfreight my door to 
airport and or dock and let the consignee arrange to clear customs and 
get it street side. Example recent quote was $357. to Rome airport FEDEX 
to the door was close to $600.00. I recently imported over 200 radios in 
6 crates by ocean all charges to my door $4,000.00 no  duty no hassle.
For small packages Up to 4 pounds USPS is very simple. State radio 
parts, $10.00 gift signature, both addys. Airmail to AU Friday was 
$1.86. Over pounds another simple form to max weight to country no 
hassle no SSN number.
