Buy a used Loran C, typically $5 at ham swaps. Wait until they shut it down 
(at least 5 yrs IMHO) then buy your GPS which will then be at Walmart for 
$29.99. I like Loran C. I even liked Loran A, having used APN 4 and APN 9 surplus 
gear a LOT.  Something about LF and MF being more appealing to me than 
microwaves.
