Subject: RCA and the ARC-38 A
G'day .... confusion reigned after change of email address--- we
discovered DSL !... didn't know whether I was subscribed, unsubscribed
, supersized or circumcised... Seems I made the former. --thanks
for the check.
The info below may have been posted in the interim but repeated in
case anyone wanted to reopen the file .
Cheers
Pete
G'day....infomation.... maybe the ARC-38A was also produced by
RCA....... However, RCA must have produced their own version, "look
alike"which was labelled 618S-M1 according to the manual.
The only differences were their own design of the SMO ( stabilised
master oscillator) which was called the channeliser and a different
control box.
Nearly all the internal modules are the same as the Collins ARC-38
A as is the wording/copy in the manual for applicable modules.
Unfortunately I don't have a radio though...It looks a better
oscillator design that the makeover from the ARC-38 that ended up in
the ARC-38A.
Manual T.O. 12R2-4-6-32 refers.
