[Milsurplus] PRC-90 help...maybe Allen Tasker?

I am a Private Pilot and the area I live in has a lot
of Wilderness that I fly over.  I am fixing up a
PRC-90 as a back up survival unit in case of a forced
landing in the back-country. I understand that there
was a version of the Prc-90,maybe a prc-106, that had
the 121.5mhz civilian frequency.I was wondering if I
could find the 121.5 modules would it be possible to
put them in the PRC-90 in place of the 243 mhz modules
and them maybe install the 243 in place of the 282mhz
modules...I know that the beacon mode would only then
work on the 121.5 frequency but that would be ok
too.....anybody know if this will work? I have the
skills to do the modification but dont want to ruin my
working unit if this will not function. If this will
work , does anybody know where I could get the 121.5
modules? ....thanks in advance....mike.
