[Milsurplus] Lead solder banned?

Kester leads the electronics industry in solder production, and is used in
level S space applications, although I really like Ersin mulicore, I don't
know why. I think it should work better, but I can't find much difference.
As long as it meets QQ-S-571, it should be great. I have also been using
lead free no clean at work for about 8 years, and haven't had any problems
in benign environments. I still use RMA eutectic solder at home, and will
continue to until they pry it from my cold, dead fingers. It would be nice
if someone would worry about real hazards and waste, like PET bottles,
disposable diapers, and newspapers in our landfills. One more thing- lead
free solder is absolutely GREAT to work with, as long as you use a MAPP gas
or acetylene-air torch. The joints wet better, and are much stronger. I
use it in lieu of silver braze in a lot of cases now.
