[Milsurplus] WWII crystal size

DC MacDonald noted the size of low frequency crystals.

Just before WWII, the US Army developed a method of crystal
construnction, that cut down the amount of  quartz required to make
a crystal to 1/4 the orginal amount . The crystals used in the FM sets are
quite small ,as a result.
