I was speaking more in reference to
the actual crystal itself, not the holder.
I guess accuracy probably wasn't the
greatest with 100 kHz channel spacing
at the operatin frequency.

No, the FT-241 holder is only slightly larger than FT-243. Same pin
diameter
& spacing (0.093" and 0.50"), about the same height and thickness and about
30% wider. Different construction method. The FT-241 holder was also used
for
a 200 KC reference crystal in the ATC and AN/ART-13, the BC-652 and probably
others. FT-241 became DC-2(*)/U.
