I collect old radios (BC types) as well as mil. gear, manu of the BC sets had a band switch for BC or Police band. As a teenager in the mid 50s i remember listing to the Kentucky HP on the police bans. BTW, some of these police bands went as high as 3 to 4 Mhz, 73 de john allen W4GQT
