Commercially produced military nomenclature solid state inverter
replacements for DM32 ARC receivers show up several times a year on the
unmentionable auction site.
I can't recall their designation and I don't seem to have recorded it
anywhere.

  Mark,

I think I recall hearing years ago that a few SS inverters were made by
A.R.C. to replace the D-10 dynamotor used on their Type 12/15, but I've
never seen one nor any docs. If the unit you saw was painted gray, that's
probably what it was.

One was definitely built to replace the DM-53 on the BC-733, as I have one
of those. Different base connector but could probably be fitted to a
DM-32/DY-2/D-10 base. No docs on that one either.

Saw a command set BC band rcvr demo'ed the other day which used a plug
in solid state replacement for the dynamotor. Didnt look home brewed. It
made that typical inverter switching whine and was probably noiser than the
dynamotor it replaced. Were these used in the military? Any info
appreciated.
