reading Phil's comments on his BC-342 prompted me to dig out one of my manuals for the BC-312/BC-342/BC-344 and BC-314 receiver.

Inside is a Modification with the TO number as listed in the "subject" line above.

Modification to Prevent Leakage between High Voltage and AVC terminals - BC-312,-A, -C, -D, -E, -F, -G, -HX, -M, -N, and -NX; BC-342, -C, -D, -F, -H, -L, -M, and -N; BC-314-C, -D, -E, -F, and -G; Bc-344 and BC-344-D.
