Since SSB(which is supressed carrier AM) is allowed in the lower end of the
band I would suggest that you conduct AM (with carrier) ops  in a portion of
that segment.  Another rationale  to using this lower segment is that  some
of the older military aircraft radios  get rather squirrely in nature  when
frequencies near 225 Mcs are selected and operation is attempted.
