I think I recall hearing years ago that a few SS inverters were made by
A.R.C. to replace the D-10 dynamotor used on their Type 12/15, but I've 
never seen
one nor any docs.  If the unit you saw was painted gray, that's probably 
what
it was.

One was definitely built to replace the DM-53 on the BC-733, as I have one 
of
those.  Different base connector but could probably be fitted to a
DM-32/DY-2/D-10 base.  No docs on that one either.
