Remember, those guards did not win their jobs after passing a rigorous logic
ability test.
Also, to set the tone for the rest of the organization's procedures, remember 
the gov't official who said, why certainly, an elderly white woman should be
as thoroughly scrutinized as a Middle Eastern looking young man at airport
security. (  A lot of elderly Norwegian women have terrorist links. )

Another thing to remember, as in the case of the young ham who had his
HT confiscated and time robbed, is once you fall into the power of law 
enforcers, you enter a special nether world where normal protections and
respect, as a citizen do not quite work as well. Remember those Muslim -
US CITIZENS picked up in the aftermath of 9-11 ? They were innocent til 
proven guilty - that didn't help them avoid being slammed against walls, 
shoved, verbally abused. I has one minor run in with the law years back 
as a college student, that's where i got my eye opener on something i knew 
nothing about. "You say he clubbed you - well, prove it, and so what 
anyway". Now it's, "Well, move to France!"
And, i have GREAT respect for law enforcement people, who are REALLY
on our front lines every day ! It's just that it comes with some certain small
caveats.
