Hi Mike,
I got the info I cited from Joe Baugher's work on the B-52. See:
http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/baugher_us/b052i.html
He lists these parts as making up the ASQ-38:
MD-1 automatic astrocompass
AN/AJA-1 or AN/AJN-8 true heading computer system
AN/APN-89A Doppler radar
AN/ASB-9A or AN/ASB-16 bombing navigation system
More excellent info on the ASQ-38 may be seen at the Bomb/Nav web site at:
http://www.bombnav.org/INFO/B-52/ASQ38.htm
This is the work of Bernard Palicki who I'm going to try to contact next.
BTW, thanks to all on this list who have taken the time to reply to my
baldfaced plea for help!
Best,
- Jim Klotz
