>From what I understand, destruction of equipment and manuals has happened
like this thru many presidencies. I have heard stories of it happening in
the 50s, 60s, 70s, and so on. Yes, it is a damn shame, and I really wish
it did not happen (especially the old Navy information), but it
happens. Remember Alexandria.

So save what you have - even things like manuals for 1950s aircraft radar
sets (!). Eventually some pieces of the puzzle can be put back
together. There is a lot of information out there yet to be rediscovered.
