When I worked in defense electronics we didnt give a hoot about patents as
the US Govt and its contractors normally have immunity from patent infringement
suits. A patent owners only recourse is to file a claim for compensation with
the Claims Court in DC, but they are not especially fast or generous in their
awards. There are exceptions though, Tektronix got a pretty big award when the
govt had other companies make carbon copies of their scopes. It is like
condemnation or emminent domain, if the govt wants your land they can take it, then
you have to make a claim for reasonable compensation. They don't have to buy
it at an agreed price like normal buyers.
Now that we are through with the law chatter, does anyone know whether the
ARC 65 HF SSB set was used in C 118 (mil DC 6) aircraft?
