The USSR did copy the SCR-522, BC-348,  BC-221, and maybe more. 
Lenin once said, "The capitalists will sell us the weapons to destroy them".
The West bumbled and made a lof of mistakes, both thru our free flow of 
information, abetted by incompetence and greed. But it was the USSR that
collapsed. Kinda gives one faith in the progress of humankind. The Assyrians,
Nazis, Communists, all their empires lie face down in the sand.
