Speaking of film strip. . . expanded tuning , anyone remember the FR6 signal
generator,  I wish I could tell you about the first time that I saw it in
use -- but  unable. It was
Wonderful instrument will multi-calibration points and excellent
repeatability when dialing in a "Reset" point. You could see the cog marks
on the film strip  which was magnified as you dialed in a setting from the
harmonic related book of frequencies. The film strip for the Counter dial
must have been 6 feet long but the frequency generator/meter  was all
contained in a reasonably small package. At least small for that time
period.
