If you *really* want to be picky, the first model(s) was probably called
BC-224-T1, for tentative nomenclature set #1. I think most Signal Corps
items had these T numbers (note: NOT to be confused with the later
"Trainer" category in JETDS), but most were confined to the lab. Every so
often one slipped out, and they turn up from time to time today. I have a
few, and I know you have one that I covet.
