[Milsurplus] Who made this tube ?

It would seem so -- the full name of the company was Farnsworth Television
and Radio Company - as emblazoned on the tags of many a BC-312.

That was my first boatanchor -- still have it and a few more of the
Farnsworth's and other mfrs.

I always got a kick out of the positioning of "Television" before "Radio",
and the very presence of the TV reference considering the time -- TV was a
curiosity.

Suppose part of the reason was that Philo T. Farnsworth was the true
inventor of the TV system that was eventually adopted. However, Sarnoff &
NBC/RCA outmaneuvered him -- some say virtually stole the design. I believe
Philo eventually won out in court in the late 40's, but his patent - from
the 20's-- had expired.

It's possible the tube was a special run made by another manufacturer and
private-labeled for Farnsworth, as were Hallicrafters, Sears Silvertone, and
others.

What sort of tube is it? Glass or metal octal?

Barry
