The AN/GRC-9 manual TM 11-263 (06/1956) describes using the T-17 in the "Operation of Transmitter" section, followed by a discussion of use of the T-45.  The manual states that the T-17 and T-45 are not supplied as part of the set, but are supplied in a field installation kit.
