Mike,

You're welcome. That's one of the reasons why I always keep all versions of
the manuals that I come across. And it occurrs to me that in this case the 1950
edition is a better one for the collector than the 1954 one. The 1950
revision only changed two pages (parts lists) so it is essentially the June 1945 one.
I don't know how many pages were changed nor what was on those pages in the
1953 rev and the 1954 one was a complete redo, with all revision history zeroed
out.

I had forgotten about the position 1 requirement, and I'm sure that the C-30A
was less expensive but I can't think of too many reasons why you would, when
flying, want to run the R-28 without running the T-23. But the main reason for
my comment was from the standpoint of a pilot needing to select a different
channel while getting shot at and racking the aircraft around. The four
pushbuttons on the C-30 can be selected by feel whereas the rotary switch requires
counting clicks and knowing which channel it was on before you started. Plus the
rotary switch will start the tuning circuits homing to the first position
switched to, then the second, etc. whereas the pushbutton will just send it
straight to the only one selected.
