Although newer equipment came into the inventory during the course of the
long war, the AN/GRC-109 was definitely used by US troops in Vietnam. There have
been some posts here from people who actually used them over there (I never
did). Come to think of it, I'm not sure what set is considered as having
replaced the AN/GRC-109. Not the AN/PRC-47. That replaced the AN/GRC-9 (and its
variants AN/GRC-87 and AN/VRC-34). AN/PRC-74??? No AC supply for it that I know of
but it could be operated from a hand crank generator.
