I've had two vibrators in a row with oxidation
between the vibrator contact point and the reed itself-
in other words, the rivits (or what ever you call them) 
that actually hold the contact points to the reed did not
make contact between the point and the reed on which it was 
mounted.  I fixed one by using solder flux paste and solder.
The other wouldn't take solder and I broke the reed 
at the contact point while trying to work out the oxidation.
