[Milsurplus] Heintz & Kaufman HK54

Hello Group,

Just stumbled across a NIB 54 made by H & K. Does anyone know what piece(s) of gear this was used in?  Been able to find very little info on this puppy. The packing date is 1945.  Perhaps some VHF gear? It looks identical in construction to the 3C24 that was used in the BC-640, but it's about double the size of the 3C24.  Just got my curiosity up.
