During the Berlin Airlift, 1948-9, when my BC-191 and
I was located at Dedelsdorf(?) in Germany where it provided
a low frequency signal for our aircraft to follow as they
exited the Russian Zone, and entered the British Zone, the
British had their Eureka sitting on a card table.  In the
area of tactical navigational aids for aircraft they must
have been far ahead of us.
